Setup Guide for Netscape 4.7 and up
Introduction
This document covers configuring the mail server
information in your Netscape user profile.
Adding profiles
1a. If Netscape is already installed on your computer:

- Click

- Place mouse over "Programs".
- Place mouse over "Netscape Communicator".
- Place mouse over "Utilities".
- Click "User Profile Manager".

- Click

1b. The first time that you run Netscape the following
will come up automatically:

- Click

- Enter your name in the "Full name:" field as you would
like it to appear in association with e-mails.
- Enter your e-mail address in the "Email address:"
field. (i.e. user_name@combase.com)

- Enter the name that you would to use for your profile in the
"Profile Name" field. (i.e. your username or your first
name.
- Click
.

- Enter "mail.combase.com" into the "Outgoing mail
(SMTP) server:" field.
- Click
.
- Enter your username in the "Mail server user name:
- Enter "mail.combase.com" in the "Incoming Mail
Server:" field.
- Make sure that "POP3" is bulleted.
- If you use news groups click
.
If you do not, click .

- Enter "news.combase.com" in the "News
(NNTP) server:" field.
- Click
.
Congratulations,
Netscape is now setup to send and receive your ComBase e-mail.
Editing your profile preferences.

- Click "Edit".
- Click "Preferences".


- Click the
sign next to "Mail & Newsgroups".

- Click "Mail Servers".

- Enter "mail.combase.com" in the "Outgoing mail
(SMTP) SERVER:" field.
- Enter your username in the "Outgoing mail server user name:"
field.
- Click
.

- Select "POP3 Server" in the "Server Type:"
field.
- Enter your username in the "User Name:" field.
(i.e. anabc)
- Click the tab labeled "POP".

- Make Sure that "Leave messages on Server"
is NOT check. (Checking this box will cause a copy of
your e-mail to be stored on email account. If your disk quota
reaches 200% your account will be dis-mailed, and you will be
unable to receive any e-mails until your disk space on the server
has been cleaned off.)

- Click "Identity".

- Enter your name in the "Your name:" field as
you would like it to appear in association with e-mails.
- Enter your e-mail address in the "Email address:"
field. (i.e. user_name@combase.com)
- Leave the "Reply-to address" field blank.
